Why Fences Fall Down During Strong Winds
A solid wood fence with no gaps will cause turbulence on both sides of the fence.
This build-up of eddie turbulence in strong winds could cause the fence to blow down. Also during strong winds plants in the garden can be damaged.
A fence with gaps allows the wind to dissipate its speed gradually thus minimising turbulence.
Why lots of fences fail because of posts
Many fences fall down due to the posts rotting at the base.
If the wood is in contact with the earth the wood never dries out and rots more quickly than the rest of the fence.

Post Savers offers a solution to prevent posts from rotting.
The "Post Savers" are a combination of bitumen and thick plastic wrapper. A heat gun melts the bitumen to create a watertight seal around the post.
